Explanation of the name:

The name comes from the wife of an explorer, her name was Rosita.

Description:

The Rose-Bellied Bunting measures 13 to 14 cm (5 to 5,5 inches). The male has a blue head and chest, a rose to red belly and a white eye border. The female is brown, she also has a white eye border.

Habitat:

The Rose-Bellied Bunting lives in Mexico where it’s an endemic bird.

Behaviour:

The Rose-Bellied Bunting is a fearful bird that feels comfortable in the low bushes, the edge of forests and near fresh water.  It feeds with seeds, plants, flowers and insects during the whole year.
